Helia - from the Greek helios, meaning “of the sun.”
A project born of my desperate, obsessive attempts to connect with our land; to integrate into the natural cycles as an equal among the trees, flowers, bugs, rocks, and vines. A transcended goal to be an active participant through restorative farming.
And now it is my desperate, obsessive attempt to have you all join along with me.
Grown, harvested, and fermented as a one-woman project, through holistic and organic farming practices.
Wines
From the historic 1888 planted vines at Bedrock Vineyard. Regenerative Organic and CCOF Organic certified grapes. A field blend of primarily Zinfandel, with dozens of interplanted varieties such as Syrah, Alicante Bouschet, Merlot, Lenoir, and more. Co-fermented with a small percentage of whole-cluster Carignane.
Located in Kenwood, Puccini is a 1906 Planted Zinfandel 1 acre vineyard enclosed by an ancient rock wall. It sits at 750ft elevation at the crest of the Sonoma Mountain, facing east towards the Mayacamas. The vineyard includes several interplanted varieties such as Flame Tokay, Muscadelle, and more. Farmed Organically.
